Saint Mary de los Reyes's Church and Portico
It is located north of the Villa. Its construction began in the s. XII, does not end until the beginning of the s. XVI so the mix of styles is evident in all its corners. The main altarpiece dates from the s. XVII, being one of the best works of Juan de Bascardo. The true jewel of the temple is its Gothic portal, made of stone, from the end of the s. XIV, with a perfect preservation of its polychromy dating from the s. XVII. It shows in its jambs the figures of the twelve apostles, with a splendid sculpture of Santa María de los Reyes in the mullion. The tympanum is filled with images of the life of the Virgin and the archivolts are decorated with plant motifs and imagined. The closing of the portico in the s. XVI has preserved this magnificent work.
