Plaza Mayor - Town Hall and Carrillon Clock

Plaza Mayor - Town Hall and Carrillon Clock

Neuralgic center of the Villa, this porticoed square is presided over by the Town Hall, building of the s. XIX. On its façade, the Laguardia coat of arms and a chime clock with automatons stand out that at 12, 14, 17 and 20 hours (the months of June- July - August - September also at 13 and 22 hours) dance to the rhythm of the typical parade of the parties (It is recommended to go a few minutes before the indicated hours). On one side is the Old Town Hall of the s. XVI, showing the Carlos V shield on the first floor. A plaque on the facade indicates the old official measures of the stick, half stick, tile and brick, used to prevent the abuse of merchants.
